Proofreading

Proofreading is the last tidy-up to find any problems that might have slipped through the editing process. This is where typos, spelling and punctuation mistakes, formatting issues, and inconsistencies are found and fixed.

Copyediting

Copyediting is polishing a piece to get it ready for publication. A copyedit will ensure that all of the 5C’s are addressed: Clarity, Coherence, Consistency, Correctness, and Conciseness. Copyediting comes before proofreading.
